Friday July 29th, 2016  CONQUERED THAT MOUNTAIN TODAY!

10 K Day was today.  I was feeling awesome about it. Mentally in the game, physically in good shape.  Spent 30 min last night and got every song that I wanted in the spots I wanted and needed them and headed out.

They let me start at the front of the line - felt good.  Smaller crowd today.  I set off running behind the pace guide.  I got so far ahead of everyone that he dropped back so that he could guide the others ( as I knew where I was going as it was the 4th time!)

I ran as far as I could until it started getting steep then did the best / fastest walking pace that I could. Got up to the top and I knew that I would be good to meet my goal as long as everything went OK.  The way back was amazing.  I ran 3/4 of the way back ( as it's mostly downhill)  Came in under 1 hr 15 minutes and my goal was to come in at 1 hr 19 min 59 seconds.  So I am VERY PROUD of how much time I was able to shave off the first time I gave my best.  I was able to shave off almost 14 mintues ( easier running with 22 lbs less of body weight jiggling around)

Went back and put in a good solid 40 min on the exercise bike

BREAKFAST

LECTURE for departing guests with Jenn -  so much to write and i'm tired so i'll put it in my summary in a few day.
Most important thing is ....... the formula they use is   F + N + EM =  WM
Fitness + Nutrition + Emotional management = Weight Management
- most of us do this in the wrong order  - we try to manage our weight  with.......
Try instead
1.   Do emotional Management
2.  Focus on Nutrition ( 80% of weightloss is food)
3.  Fitness
if you do all of the above the Weight Management will just naturally come ... doesn't need to be that hard.

Also - if you were your normal weight - what kinds of exercises would you be doing?  Those are the exercises that you should be doing to help take it off!

CORE CHALLENGE - kicked my butt again
hopped in the pool to help the pool instructor learn some new moves

LUNCH

Relaxing / reading in the sun for 30 minutes

SWIM - 1 km   I am really enjoying the swimming!

CINCO SPEED - cardio interval class I did on the treadmill ... tough

CIRCUIT - went quick

HAIRCUT ... felt good to get a fresh new do! Just a little trim!

SUPPER

home to pack and relax

Car is loaded and all ready to go.  Get my weigh out and measurements at 925 am tomorrow and then breakfast and get some food for the trip and then start my 9.5 hour drive to Dillon Montana.

I was going to do the last hike / walk tomorrow.  I changed my mind, want to sleep in and don't want to pack a bag of dirty sweaty clothes. So it's just simpler not.  I hope to get 10 k in walking  along the truck stops tomorrow so that i'm not sitting too much!

It has been an amazing journey.  I met my goal - which was to try my hardest and to get my spark and zest for life back. I look forward to going home and doing more healthy things with my family, cooking better balanced meals, setting some goals for the future - short term and long term.  The continued weightloss will come, I am not in a hurry.

Thanks for following my journey. Sorry the blog was so boring, not much energy at the end of the day to be too witty!  I will continue to post weekly with updates and will do a summary of the most important things that I learned also!

Be healthy & move!

Thursday July 28th, 2016    Another Great Day

Morning Hike - Lots of hikers today.  I followed Dennis and it was just the 2 of us for the trip there, so a great pace.  Lots of sand, some lava rock and red sandstone to climb up - all in the shade and pretty scenery!  It's amazing how much faster, stronger & more confident I feel.  I look forward to hiking at home.

so much fun to climb and so beautiful

Emotional Eating Workshop with Jenn ( I forgot the notes in my locker, i'll post some tips and hints tomorrow night)

HIP HOP - it wasn't pretty... LOL but I thought I would give it a try

LUNCH

SUNNING on the air matress 20 min and then SWIM 1 KM
TREADING CLASS - did not want to run, so I did it with incline and ended up getting a good workout in.

POOL - 40 min water jogging and toning

95 min massage..... heaven.... it was supposed to be 80 but he went  over!

Toe nail polish change - just to feel pretty

It was a great day - all in all.  10 k tomorrow - I am going to work as hard as I can to get my time below 1 hr 20 min ... so 1 hr 19 59 will do.  But it really does not matter to me if I make it or not.

I did not QUIT!  I have been quitting everything for the last 3 years - so just to have set a goal of doing the 10 k every week and do my best.  So I will do my best and see how it goes!

So excited to be heading home on Saturday morning!

Wednesday July 27th, 2016

( Happy Birthday to my Son Craig 15 today)

I CAN SEE THE END OF THIS CHAPTER OF THE JOURNEY

A much better day today!  Emotionally, physically and mentally!

HIKE - only 2 of us! Rose & Myself and our 2 hiking guides, so we got a private hike - It was amazing.  Red Mountain trail - but we skipped a bunch of yucky sand ( still got a lot of it though!) so that we could climb the summit and scramble around.  We  were literally on the edge 1500 ft above the canyon floor - it was awesome & I didn't slip and fall and die, so that is good!  LOL
I can't tell you how amazing it feels up here - it's so beautiful!  The feeling of accomplishment is pretty awesome too!

This is Roses' picture.  We sat ... yes sat with our legs hanging on a ledge ( with a very sturdy ledge underneath it and it was tilted backwards ... so fairly safe)  Probably about 1500 ft down to the canyon floor.

sitting on the edge ( not even thinking about jumping off... ) So peaceful!

BREAKFAST
I noticed another girl crying at breakfast, she has been there for 3 weeks with me.  I didn't say anything to her, just gave her space.  After she was talking with someone else, I mentioned I could take her driving in the convertible with the roof down and do swimming in the Gunlock Resevoir and she perked right up.  Got her and another girl out of the compound and we did a fantastic 1.3 km water jog, noodle swim in some amazing cool water   ( did this instead of open gym and missed a cardio class... got back just before lunch)

LUNCH
I went and rode the bike for 20 min to make up a bit of the cardio class we missed ( but we did get an extra 20 min of swimming over top of the class we missed)

LASTING CHANGE - LECTURE   CLIFF
Cliff is an awesome instructor.  He's been at Movara for about a year.  He lost 60 lbs over the last 6 years and became a fitness trainer.  He had a heart attack and both his parents died from health related issues.  It was great hearing his story.  The most important things that I took from his lecture were:
- Work that needs to be done is from the inside out
- Knowledge is Power... only if you do something with it
- You need to find your WHY!   Why do you want to lose weight ( Cliff doesn't like the phrase losing weight.  When he loses something he usually finds it again and he doesn't plan on finding the lost weight again.. Good point!  So he got Rid of some weight.
- Do what you enjoy as far as exercise and you'll be more likely to stick with it!
- abs are created in the kitchen, not in the gym
- use a smaller plate, it'll give you the illusion of having a full plate
- stay accountable and get some good support
- weight is NOT a MEASURE of progress!

KICKBOXING - Awesome as always - my shoulder did not get sore during the burn out the shoulder drill - loved that!

STRENGTH CIRCUIT - I chose the treadmill instead - burned 500 calories walking briskly

AQUA ZUMBA OR STRETCH  - I rode the exercise bike for another 30 minutes for 300 calorie burn and then went and did stretch on my own
This is a selfie of my fat crying after biking - the gym has a/c and it's set at 20 degrees.  I don't know why I sweat so much.  I am probably drinking  6 - 7 litres of water a day!

SUPPER - I didn't eat my dessert.  It wasn't appealing to me, so I went to the grocery store - Harmon's .  It is the most beautiful store I have ever been to.  Look at the items you get at the till to grab - Tuna snacks, healthy energy bars, fruit, water, nuts  ..... sure different than our checkout lines!

I got a dark chocolate bar and ate 50 calories worth ( there was dark chocolate in the dessert tonight at Movara) and a bowl of mixed fruit, blueberries, pineapple, blackberries, grapes, strawberries - just couldn't leave them at the store!  It was an awesome dessert I enjoyed at home.

All in all it was a great day. I'm in a much better frame of mind, the hike really helped it was so awesome. Tomorrow is my last "hike".  It should be in amazing scenery in snow canyon again.  Lots of climbing up and down.  Emotional Eating lecture, some time to get extra cardio in and an 80 min deep tissue massage with an amazing therapist and then touch up my toe polish ( sand is very hard on it - shoes and socks are always full of fine red sand)

ps.  jumped on the scale today - weight is not a measure of progress.... but I finally saw the 230's on the scale ... whoop whoop!  20 lbs "that I got rid of " I'll go with Cliff's words on that.  Very happy with that!

Tuesday July 26th, 2016        Somedays Superwoman, Somedays just HUMAN

Morning Hike - We did WhiteRocks - one of the hardest hikes they have at Movara.  We gained 1250 ft elevation - so an awesome climb.  Lots of sand, lavarock, limestone.  Big tour through snow canyon - loved it!  The group was not balanced well.  For some reason there are 12 people in our van - it's crazy with about 4 different levels.  So there is no FAST van this week, so our van is the fastest.  I basically had a private guide today - Mason, he kept a good pace for me to keep up with . I pushed myself on the uphills, overall the hike did not seem that hard.

BREAKFAST

BIKE RIDE - I went on a new route - wasn't sure where I was going and was hoping it wouldn't be too hard of a climb to get back - it's so hilly everywhere - it was a good workout.

SWIM - I came back and didn't feel like doing circuit or stretch ( I did 2 circuits yesterday) so I hopped in the pool and did a good 1km swim

LUNCH

After lunch I hopped in the pool as I will still in my bathing suit and layed on a floatie and read a few chapters in my book.

ALL OR NORTHING LECTURE - pretty much everyone at the lecture raised their hand when asked if they were all or nothing.  The life coach chuckled and said " of course you all are because that is they type of people who show up here.  It's pretty all or nothing program - to pay the money and sacrifice the time when if getting healthy was your concern and you were not all or nothing you would simply walk around the block at home and buy some apples... LOL

For most all or nothings, it probably stems from an event that happened and then life falls to crap!  You have a feeling of "not good enough" and feel like a failure or a fraud.
  "A try that doesn't work isn't a failure, it's a lesson"
"You are not a FAILURE  - you are a QUITTER"
When we are in the "all" we perform   and when we are in "nothing" we are rebelling - there is a spectrum inbetween and we need to learn how to " be us" most of us have a probem with that.

All or nothing thinking - you try harder or you quit , because if it's not perfect it's not worth it.

All or nothing thinking never works in health

You need to ask yourself  - What's Enough for me?  If I was enough, what would I do?
The word should = SHAME

Stop "Should"ing  all over yourself!

So with this advice - I took the rest of the afternoon off.  Missed Bootcamp and missed Cardio Intervals and pool class.  I was having a pretty rough day about half way through the bike ride.  Hormones  & emotions heightened and I just did not have the energy to do the workout, I worked really hard for 3 1/2 hours and that was enough!  So I  went to the afternoon matinee at the theatre ( would have loved to have layed in the sun) - but it was 44 degrees and way too hot!
I saw " The Secret Life of Pets" - had a good laugh and felt SO MUCH BETTER.

Easy 20 min treadmill - walked on the treadmill with flip flops for 20 min waiting for dinner.

SUPPER- Turkey Reuben - so delicious!

It was a good learning day.  The extra calories I could have burned are really not that important.  I was working on the mental health and balance.  I am looking forward to working hard and going back tomorrow - there are gonna be some days that you don't follow your plan and that is OK!

3 more day and Saturday morning i'm going to do Stop Sign - get my STATS done , eat breakfast and start driving home by  10 am.

Are you an all or nothing thinker?  If so - set smaller manageable goals and if you don't make them, don't quit readjust them, learn from the lesson and keep moving forward!

Monday July 25th, 2016     CAN I GO HOME YET?

Well I had to get up earlier this am to get my body analysis done before 6 am... ugh. I also stayed up the latest that I have since I got here.  I still got a great deep sleep in.  I was a bit disappointed with my weigh in.  I was really hoping to get into the 230's.. even 239.9 but NOPE! 240.3  So close yet so far away.  Tonight I looked at the sheet and did the comparison and ........... I lost 5.7 lbs of FAT!  Gained 1.3 lb of muscle.  My bmr went up from 1763 cal/day to 1776 cal / day ( because of the muscle gain)  So that 1 lb of muscle will help burn more calories throughout the day - so don't get caught up with the numbers on the scale. So I will take that 4.4 lb loss for the week and 18.1 lb total.  So far I have lost 12.1 lbs of body fat and bmi has gone down from 40.5 to 37.6 and I get my BUTT out of bed when I don't have to and exercise to get it done!

Morning Hike - I was NOT in a mood to meet new people and our van had 10 people. I was afraid I wouldn't get a great workout and with missing Sat I wanted to burn lots of calories, so I got in the STOP SIGN VAN instead of my hiking group ( and they saw a wild huge desert tortoise!!!!) .... weeping now......   BUT I beat my stop sign time from 2 weeks ago by 4 minutes and I DID NOT STOP AT ALL - that the goal of that workout!  SET GOALS ALL TEH TIME - for every workout and for everything you do.. GIVE IT PURPOSE and GIVE IT YOUR ALL!
I did an extra walk to the lookout and back and then walked back again with 2 other people.
SNOW CANYON OVERLOOK - my morning adventure started way down canyon and I walked up 1000 feet and 10 km to get to this point!

BREAKFAST

BIKE RIDE - was awesome - took it easy but at the  end pushed myself.

Got back a bit late and hopped in the pool and had an AWESOME POOL CLASS - Robin the fitness director taught it - it was a great workout and I learned some new moves!

LUNCH

COOKING DEMO - Nope not today - I hopped in the pool and swam a km and then relaxed for 15 minutes and enjoyed talking to my MOM!

CIRCUIT TRAINING - I stayed on the treadmill and every 2 minutes back and forth from treadmill to weights.

COURT CHALLENGE - my back has been bothering me so I didn't want to do those bootcamp type exercises so I did the circuit training again ( SHARON was doing this one and she made us work!)  got through a bunch of other weights, still some to go.  Crushed my finger between 2 weights, OUCH!

POOL CLASS ( couldn't do it - same routine that I've seen 20 times already) didn't feel like water jogging so I went back to the gym and did stationary bike.

It was a great day all in all. I woke up wanting to come home SOOOOOOOOOO BAD!  I'm just ready to come home and live my life. I miss my wonderful husband - who walked this path on STRAVA to make me a flower, so much better than any flower I could ever get from him!

I miss my wonderful children - I don't miss my job - nor have I even though about it at all!!! It is great not being in pain on a daily basic - my job as a dental hygienist does that to me and it may be time to think about what to do next. Life is too short to be in chronic pain!

So I made the best of my opportunity. I am blessed to be here so I look forward to every minute and every challenge that this week will bring me and it really doesn't matter what my sheet and measurments tell me at the end of the week, I am ready. I have a better mindset and relationship with food and am sick and tired of worrying about weightloss, talking about weightloss and it's just time to DO IT - make healthy choices most of the time.  Eat balanced meals. Make exercise / movement a part of my daily routine - because it's good for me and because I love it and the way it makes me feel!    Until tomorrow.....................

Fri, Sat, Sunday Recap

10k - Went well. I was not in the headspace to do the race.  My toe spur was bothering me, left knee aching so I just did it to to it.  I ended up finishing 17 seconds behind last weeks time - darn it - guess I should have tried harder. Oh well. Next Friday - my goal is to come in under 1 hr 20 min so i'll give it my all!

I can't remember how the rest of the day went.  Did my best in all the activities and got my exercise in. I took off for Las Vegas my summer vacation right after dinner on Friday night.  Traffic was CRAZY!  Took me an hour to get off the I 15 to my hotel ( gps said 2 minutes).

SATURDAY - I enjoyed the pool ALL day long
- 45 degrees and basically hung out in the water on my floating in the lazy river, wave pool and other pools.    Went for a breakfast buffet and made good choices.
Egg white omelette with no cheese, topped with pico and guacamole ( healthy fat) and some hashbrown potatoes ( yes, they are not the devil... it's just carbs and they're necessary for us, just not too much) and more veggies and fruitl.
Lunch I had sliced turkey, hummus and flat bread , fruit and veggies that I packed with me and went out for a dinner buffer as  well ( I had a food and beverage credit - so no sense not using it.  It was a great test in the real world and I passed with flying colors!  So proud of my choices.  The plate method is really easy and just looking at balance!

I didn't do any "exercise" figured i'd take the day off ( I was supposed to do 1 hike and 1 workout as I jammed out of my 1/2 day Saturday) so I figured it would be easier to workout sunday instead.  I did manage to get 15,000 steps in - made the effort to move more.

SUNDAY - I woke up early and instead of laying in bed and wasting time, I was one of "those" people who got up and got their workout in before 8 am! I walked from the monte carlo all the way to the LAS VEGAS SIGN before 730 am at 30 degrees

went for another healthy buffet when I got back and then checked out and went shopping. I went into the Columbia outlet and got Carson his pants.  I figured I would look around - I always have to shop in the mens section as the women's does not fit.  I looked at some clothes and took 5 things into the changeroom and I CRIED.  They all fit. A regular XL in a normal store, when I have a closet full of 3X clothes at home!  I ended up getting 3 Columbia shirts, 2 jackets and carson's pants for $140.  CRAZY!

Did some more shopping for Carson at FRYS electronics. I was starving, I waited too long to eat.  So I took out my container of peanut butter, jam and my sandwich thin and had lunch added in 1 hard boiled egg a bag of veggies, water and an apple and voila! FIXED UP . No need to have a bag of chips of or a chocolate bar at check out or drive for fast food, it was faster to take my own!

I got back to MOVARA and hung out in the pool and relaxed until Supper was ready.  Not many here this week, it'll be nice. Way quieter - 30 people compared to 90!

Put in 45 min hard peddling on the exercise bike after supper and came back to the condo and enjoyed a hallmark movie and started packing - yeah - I get to go home soon!
ps. my clothes are starting to get TOO BIG~! Hooray!

Thursday, 21 July 2016

Thurday July 21, 2016   Some days you just can give it your all.  That's OK!

We went on the hike to Saddle this am.   It was as difficult as I anticipated.  There was an initial 1120 ft climb to get to the top and then lots of tricky rock scrambling and hiking back through deep sand. It was a great workout.  When I got back, I was DEAD!  It took me 30 minutes to get up from the breakfast table after I was done. I was overheated, so I decided to go biking inside just easy.

1 hr exercise bike - easy

Swimming - 750 m for 20 minutes

Lunch

Lecture about Divisions of Responsibilities - parent roles vs child roles when it comes to food - Ill write more about this later as i'm tired tonight.

Total Body Tabata

Treading - just couldn't give it my all. I still burned 560 calories in 45 minutes, but I did not do the class the way it was intended and that is OK.  I SHOWED UP. Most people would not have, they would have chose a nap, or visited.  So sometimes it's ok just to be ok.

Pool Class- did my own thing in deep end.  New teacher, I spent 15 min with her after class and showed her about 50 moves that she could use in her routine to help the participants get fit in the pool and have fun and get some VARIETY.  I really dislike the pool classes, but love the pool!

80 min Hot Stone Massage - it turned into a deep tissue, but that's great.  Had an awesome therapist named Reese.  He was AMAZING. He is a student in physical therapy and going for his phd.  He helped me a lot. Found tight spots I didn't know I had.  So I rebooked with him next Thursday too to loosen things up before I head back on my long drive.

My spirit was a bit down today. I was feeling very defeated on that mountain. It was SO HARD!  Packing this extra weight up steep mountains. I started in the front and finished 5 / 10 so I did ok , but I have been SUPERWOMAN in this program, feeling awesome and suddenly there is a big slap in the face!  Maybe I needed that to keep pushing forward?

Off to Las VEgas Tomorrow night for a mini vacation and shopping trip, i'll be back sunday afternoon to start my LAST week here already!  WOW!

Wed July 20, 2016  One Day At A Time

For the first time last night, I woke up in the night and had touble getting to sleep.  This didn't seem to slow me down today thank goodness.  My day started off hopping on the scale and I was thrilled to see that it was down 2.5 lbs from Saturday - so that is on track to lose 5 lbs this week.   So that is a total of just over 16 lbs!  Hopefully I can lose 10 more before I go home - may be a goal a bit too high, but the number really doesn't matter
By the end of the week, this will be the amount of weight that I am not carrying around anymore. I picked this up and walked around the gym in amazement! Such a surreal feeling.  Daily life activities will keep getting better and better!

Morning Hike - We went into Central Park - our hiking guide does a lot of eduation which is fun, but we got very frustrated stopping constantly.  We had 3 guides so it would have been nice to have been able to go the pace we should have been.  The last half of the hike got better and it turned out to be a great hike.

fun and challenging staircases to climb up with steep drop offs - I am trying to do them all without stopping now.

not feeling a lot thinner, but the pictures are showing a new trimmer physique!

just lazing around.... LOL

BREAKFAST

BIKE RIDE - I did my easy loop again 17.6 km with 145 m incline.  I pushed myself up 1 last hill ( one that was not on the route) but knew it would be good for me so I pushed through! Yeah me!

MT. FUJI CARDIO - I did this on the treadmill. Choose a baseline and increase every 3 minutes, do this 12 times.  I chose incline as I did not want to run - so I kept an even pace of 3.8mph while I raised the incline.  Burned 500 calories in 40 minutes!  Increase intensity makes the workouts shorter!

LUNCH

30 min on Exercise Bike

30 min on Exercise Bike ( no this is not a typo, it happened 2x)

WEIGHT CIRCUIT - 1 min on each machine

KICKBOXING WITH SHARON

POOL CLASS - too many people so I stayed in the deep end.

Another Great day!  Tomorrow will be challenging climbing SADDLE starts straight up!  Treading Class and I am going to take a sac breakfast and go Kayaking after hiking.  I wanted to do it, but I didn't want to miss a hike to do it.  So the 2nd group option is great, glad they put that in this week with so many people!

Tuesday July 19, 2016       Be Encouraging to others

Another wonderful glitch free day.

I decided last night that I was going to skip hiking this am!  I factored in a slower group, 60 minutes of driving in a van with 10 + people and a shorter hike.  I figured that I could sleep in 45 minutes and do my bike ride into West Canyon  and be back for breakfast and get in a 2 hour ride and it worked out great! I really enjoyed my ride and challenged myself.

Bike 30 km 1 hr 41 min - I was so excited to put on my cycling jersery this am that I had bought in Hawaii 2 years ago. I have been wearing it but it was way too tight and it fit just right today! That's encouraging as I was having issues last night. I've been really bloated and feeling 6 months pregnant with digestion or something.  So that was nice - great start to the day.

BREAKFAST - tried to trick Chef Sam into giving me extra protein, didn't work.  He said - so you want 1 scoop of the egg scramble and turkey bacon instead of 2 scoops of egg scramble... LOL - it make me full with 1 slice of bread and butter and fruit!

WALK  OUTSIDE - 6.3 km 1 hr 2min - I should have gone to play Frisbee golf - but just wanting to get the best calorie burn in and wasn't feel sociable.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

LUNCH

SWIMMING - 1 km - after lunch - had a lecture after so I wanted to get a bit more exercise in

LECTURE - Nutrition Made Easy - i'll include notes later I left them at the resort

POOL CLASS - Sharon taught so I participated - fun class  ( relaxed and enjoyed the sun after class to dry off - make me 10 minutes late for the next one..... OH well!

CARDIO INTERVALS - Worked hard on treadmill

BOOTCAMP - Cards again .... ugh.... so many people there must be @27 in our group. Makes it pretty crowded - people knocking people over, but did my best and got a good workout in.

DINNER

MOVIE - I was so tempted to get a kids pack only 5.oo and portion controlled.  But no, I committed to 28 days of the program and so many are making sacrifices for me being here, so I will not stray. It cost me 5.00 to get into the show and I had to pay 5.25 for a glass of water and ice and I took a true lemon raspberry to add some flavoring. It tasted awesome, didn't miss the pop.  I took a 60 calorie orange

I said hi to over 50 people during my bike ride.  It's amazing how good that makes you feel. People passing you and encouraging you and me passing others and encouraging them.  So make sure to go out of your way to say hello and BE KIND!

Tomorrow should be another good day - hike central park again and then lots of classes and extra exercise.. Looking forward to swimming laps again - I enjoyed it today.

Day 16 Monday July 18th, 2016    Starting the Countdown to come home - Downhill Slide

It was tough waking up this am.  My alarm woke me up - it's been awhile since I haven't woken up on my own.  I wasn't sure what the hike would bring with SO many new people.  It's crazy - they have a promotion on right now for the week - 4 to a room for a set price - great deal but they are over capacity and understaffed to deal with it.  The spa manager is now a hiking guide, trainers are food servers etc.  So they are making with work, but just so many people around compared to last week!

HIKE -  1 1/2 hrs moving time  - 7.9 km it was the assessment hike.  They knocked me out of the fast van ;(   I am in the next van and we did the same hike - just backwards, met in the middle and drove each other's vans back to the resort.  I was at the front with the hike guide ( 1 in the back too)  We had to wait several times for the group to bunch back up which was a bit frustrating.  At the end of the hike - I did an extra 10 minutes up the road and back to wait for the back of the group to come in.  So hopefully tomorrow we can go at a decent pace - I like the hikes that we are doing this week, so that is good!

BREAKFAST

BIKE RIDE - 20 km  1 hr 10 min hard work -  went on another amazing bike ride.  I challenged myself on a few hills enjoyed the ride down and turned around and went back up - because I CAN! I didn't read my schedule good enough - I missed kickboxing ;(  I was sad, I love it!  The others options I didn't want so I figured I would bike.

TREADMILL - 30 min watched Netflix

LUNCH -

Exercise Bike - got in another 30 minutes before the afternoon cooking demo

COOKING DEMO - The shrimp pizza for supper was so good - got to see how he makes them and the Chicken Parmesan was so good - excited to make it at home too. I am going to shopping and get some of the ingredients we may not have in Canada.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

COURT CHALLENGE - LIKE BOOTCAMP - we had to pick up a weighted ball and hold it over my head and walk outside.  I chose the 16 lb ball - and guess what? I should be @16 lbs down by now - it was so hard carrying that around - amazing to think about carrying that ball around and up the mountains!  Good eye opener!

WATER CLASS - I did water jogging for 30 min and a bit of toning and then we got a seat a bit early and salad bar for supper - it's like sardines packed in there when everyone eats!

DINNER - My favorite meal - an amazing Shrimp Alfredo Pizza - so good! And Pineapple Sorbet!  Just fresh pineapple puree frozen - it was soooooo good!

Got my toe nail polish changed out for $10.  I changed it up - now they are sparkly bright blue.  I don't imagine it will last long - the sand and sunscreen is hard on the toes!

Other than my crappy attitude about the new large group ( i'll work on that) it was an awesome day. I enjoy doing my own thing. I know what I need to do and can just get it done!  Upset stomach when I eat food ??? Hopefully that goes away soon.  Back to the Bachelorette! Monday night treat.

Day 15 Sunday July 17th, 2016    There is hope for me yet!

DAY OFF! I woke up at 630 am so I got up at 7.  Movara has an omlette bar on Sunday mornings, so Chef Sam made me a wonderful creation!
Notice the balance!  1/2 whole grain English muffin ( with a smear of unsalted butter), egg white and egg omlette  - whole egg and egg white -cooked in grapeseed oil spray,  loaded with veggies and a touch of feta cheese ( not my favorite but hey, why not try), Scoop of avocado ( healthy fat -   fat burns fat!) and fruit.  So delicious and filling

WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO?  It just felt so strange to be sitting and doing nothing.  So I went on an amazing bikeride through lava fields and with the Red Mountains in the background.  Fun explorations - I was looking for flat easy - ha ha ha ha! That doesn't exist here.  I did not have to get out of bed, I did not have to exercise but I CHOSE TO!  Get a great start to the day and enjoy some time doing what I love doing - biking.  So hopefully there is hope for me yet! I will continue to get it done at home.  Utilize the morning time, no excuses - get your exercise done, have your menu prepped and planned so that excuses don't get in the way!
This both  excites me and scares me.  Fun ride down but what goes down must go back up.... LOL

I went shopping to the big Walmart, picked up a cooler  and icepacks so I can have healthy food for my trip home.  Went back to Movara for an amazing lunch - Sliced turkey sandwich and Yam Fries!

The rest of the afternoon was floating in the pool reading a book and watching the masses roll in.  It was crazy - they are over capacity for this coming up week - by a lot! So it will be very busy  and cramped and not fun - but I will do my own thing and just continue to get it done. It looks like there are more fit people here this week  ( but I know don't judge a book by it's cover) so if i'm in the fast hiking group it will be a challenge and hopefully I can figure out something for my darn blister!  Looking forward to another great week ahead!

I fogot I did my weigh in on Saturday morning.  I lost 5 lbs this week!!!!!  So a total of 14 lbs so far.  Which averages out to a lb a day.  I am only expecting 5 lbs this week again, i'll try my best but it really doesn't matter.  Things like getting out of bed this am, going for a bike ride, Choosing healthy snacks ( I had almonds in my purse & ordered water while I was out last night) will be what will help me to continue this journey at home.  Good habits and having the mind in the game!
