July 6th, 2016   WHAT A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!

It has been an awesome day! Everything went great and I gave it 100% with everything  I did!

breakfast ( you order off a menu)

lunch ( have I mentioned the food is AMAZING - every calorie has a purpose and is balanced and even those 3000 / 400lb people are not hungry , combined with the appetite suppressant EXERCISE!

Chili & peanut butter cup - " peanut butter is made from Chickpeas"

Can't get a better view while eating!

I woke up and got my feet prepared ( biggest chore - cause if you're feet are not happy it's hard to move). I noticed while walking to the car that I felt hotspots ( pre blisters) and decided that it would be best to skip the hike and go on a bike ride instead.  The devil in my head and angel on my shoulder were fighting.  Now was I backing out because I was a bit  nervous about the difficulty of the hike??? Or was I listening to my body - I decided to bike and listen to my body. I got in @30 km bike ride on sandy gravel with some incline on the sand and gravel - It was tough.  I thought I may need rescued!  I am too stubborn to turn around, so I made it to the end of west canyon and I had NOTHING left!  How was I going to get back.  So I pulled out some sugar chews and had @ 90 calories worth of those and  KA PoW! Superwoman - just breezed on back ( ok it was mostly downhill apparently too which probably helped).  So I am glad I made that choice, my feet are feeling better and ready to hike tomorrow!
Can't imagine anywhere else more beautiful to bike - the main trail is 8 miles round trip and I met over 30 people at 7 am - people are very very active here, biking, running, walking etc.  So could see retiring in this area, we both love it!

this is on the way back - I am heading back to the valley below

Came back from biking - which was 2 hours and 11 minutes and I was early for breakfast so I took the opportunity to read a few stories out of my Chicken Soup for the Soul Book
it was already 33 degrees by then - soaking up the heat.

Next was a lecture - that I skipped - I will go in the next 3 weeks, I wanted to get more calories burned today and leave the lecture for when i'm exhausted and worn out in a week or 2.  So the choices were open gym or pickleball - I went on the treadmill and mindlessly watched some Netflix for 45 min

MATTERHORN - Cardio class - OMG! Mountain Class got harder.  It was great - I was tired from being on the treadmill though ( dumb dumb dumb)  So I chose the elliptical trainer  - here is how the class goes, try it on any cardio equipment

3 minute warm up at a comfortable base line ..... then
Every 3 minutes for 5 times  increase something ( incline or speed)
Next 8 increases are every 2 minutes then
Next 5 increases are every 1 minute and done!   YOu climbed that Matterhorn mountain.  It was great
I started on level 1 on the elliptical with a decent pace and ended up on level 18 while trying to maintain that pace - good aerobic and anerobic workout!

Lunch

COOKING DEMO
 - Chef Sam is amazing - in 45 minutes he make so many dishes, chicken with spaghetti squash, brownie with raspberry topping ( which is dessert tomorrow!!!) , creamed yam soup, beef pita pockets, bbq pizza and other things.  He keeps things quite simple so it's easy for people to reproduce at home

KICKBOXING with Sharon - amazing - I had a partner about  the same size as me so I really got to whack that bag.  Boxing towers are filled with sand and we had to push them from 1 end of the very long gym to the other.  Felt great though to be able to push it!  I really need to do this at home , I really like it!

STRENTH CIRCUIT - same equipment as Circuit training - but no cardio - 1 min on each piece of equipment. it was good - a minute is pretty long is you have a decent weight - so more toning with lighter weights  & more reps!

STRETCHING ON OWN

WATER CLASS - I didn't want to be in the shallow end - hard on feet and forgot watershoes and kmart didn't have my size last night.  So I stayed in the deep end and worked out and then the instructor used the whole pool so I ended up participating in half.

I can't believe that after @ 18 hours of intense exercise in 3 days that I am really not sore.  A few things popping up  ( we did 70 pushups at bootcamp yesterday and the pecs reminded me today)  I am a MACHINE and DETERMINED and I CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT TO DO!  AND SO CAN YOU!  I think this is the best day that I've had at the resort yet ( including last stay)  it just was wonderful - usually Wednesday is known as "WEEPING WEDNESDAY" so can't complain about that!  I am settled in my jammies by 7 working on todays pile of sweaty clothes - a daily event - i'll probably get a bill for power based on washing machine and air conditioner!  I would go for another walk but it's 40 degrees out now with a very hot wind.  So just enjoying some a/c indoors.   Tomorrow is treading Thursday - treading sucks!  But it's good for you. So hopefully the day goes just as smooth!  Try to do some of those cardio classes - they are fantastic on a treadmill, bike, rower , elliptical.  Until tomorrow.....
