Thurday July 7th, 2016  ANOTHER GREAT DAY!

Delicious food yet again today!  So amazing how they can pack so much great taste, nutrition into 1200 calories.  I am getting a copy of the cookbook with the recipes from the food that we eat.

MORNING HIKE: We did Camelback.  I loved the hike wasn't too hard, had 3 guides again so we have a fast, middle and slow group in our fast van.  I kept up OK - just Lloyd ( the 75 year old) gets his own guide at the front of the pack - wow!  Lots of sand to walk through - it sucks! Lots of snakes to watch out for.  A few places we got to climb up.  It was shorter because it's a longer drive to get there.  So only 1 hr 20 min on the trail compared to usually 2 hours.  So when we got back after breakfast I went and hopped on a treadmill for 40 more mintes.
A few people in the hiking group went down into the vortex.  A huge hole - huge - there is a very sketchy ledge path to get down there, if you were to fall it would not be a good thing, I chickened out last time as I did again today.  It's just not the risk of rolling an ankle.  Maybe someday - i'm ok with that!
This is the vortex you can't see the bottom of the hole, but it's literally a huge valley in a circle ( as you can see not much to step on to get down into the bottom and then they crawled up the crevasse to the left of where I am standing - very left shaldow ( and the biggest on .... OH well get over it already)

from the side it looks like 2 camel humps

fun exploring and climbing up all sorts of structure

Breakfast

Emotional Eating Workshop ( I didn't attend will go after a more strenuous hike) so I wanted to get some more steps in as the hike was short - so I went on the treadmill for 40 minutes.

I had a bit of extra time so I sat on a couch out in the sun and RELAXED - I felt guilty about that.  But that's part of the program so I've got to lose this all or nothing mentality!

STRETCH AND CORE - was like Yoga - ugh - hate it but know it's good for me

Lunch

Restriction / Chaos Diet Cycle Lecture - awesome lecture by the dietician.  She talked about how we make a circle - Diet / Restriction are on the Left and on the Right is CHAOS - it made a big circle - so you go from being on a diet and restriction and it leads to lack of energy, resentment, deprivation, so rebellion occurs and then CHAOS happens.  At this point you will experience guilt and worry about your weight, lack of energy again and then start the cycle over with a new diet cause the last one didn't work.  Anyone been there?   So RESTRICTION CAUSES CHAOS!  FEELING SATISFIED KEEPS YOU FROM CHAOS.  So if that means a bit of food you "enjoy" that's ok - Balance and moderation is splitting this restriction and chaos circle in half and there can be a SMALL pendulum moving back and forth and that's ok - Body is resilient to small swinging changes not big ones so much!

TREADING CLASS - I was feeling exhausted and like I had hit a wall - so 1 had 1/2 banana and 5 almonds for a snack and it perked me up abouth half way through the class.  I ended up running 9.0mph on the treadmill.
Treading workout:  Do on any cardio equipment
Full out 5 min at max heart rate ( 80 - 100% ) very uncomfortable
Easy recovery for 5 minutes
Full out 4 minutes at max HR / Recover for 4
3 min full out / recover for 3
2 min full out / recover 2
1 min full out / recover 1 ( it's only 1 min so what you do for 1 minute .. .faster. faster , go go go
then came the surprise .... Sharon always has surprises.   so 50sec / 50 sec  40 sec / 40 sec  30 sec / 30 sec
works on increase your heart strength.
TRY IT  YOU WONT LIKE IT BUT ITS GOOD FOR YOU!
This is the class that pushed me in the direction of signing up for a 1/2 marathon when I had not run a day in my life! And with following the training got it done in 2 hours 9 minutes

TOTAL TONING: Great class weights, body weight and bar

Aqua Zumba- so much fun!  Awesome instructor, awesome tunz!

It was a great day again.  Tomorrow am is the 5k/10k challenge, so I am going to the the 10k  we could do stopsign hike or west canyon which would be bigger burns but I would like to see how my time is tomorrow and compare it to the other 3 weeks and see if I can improve!  Then I will take the bike out & go for breakfast and then go back out on the bike.

I am really amazed by how well things are going here.  No mental breakdowns, just doing what i'm supposed to ( or what I feel like) but always putting my 100% into it if I can.  It's my full time job for the month so i'm just looking at it that way. NO cravings at all!  Diet coke has been gone for 4 days now and I do not miss it ( and will always remember that migraine) I talked to a guide that was more hooked than me and she hasn't had one for over 6 months and feels like it would be like that first drink for an alcoholic for her.  So if she wants pop occasionally will have sprite or something similar.

Touch base tomorrow night - should be a fun day!
