Day 6 Saturday July 9th, 2016    Such Amazing Beauty!

I went on the hike to Kanarraville Falls.  We left Movara at 630 am.  It was about a 50 min bus ride, nice to visit and meet some new people.  The hike started straight up with no warm up.... ugh.  Trail and sand for a few km's with some incline - jumping over the creek to keep our feet dry ( for the time being) then we ended up IN the stream of COLD water and pretty much climbed ( literally ) in spots, up the canyon. It was SO amazing!  So glad I went. I was debating.  I knew it would not be a great calorie burn and STOP sign was an alternative and I was excited to meet up with my old friend from days gone by.  SOMETIMES IT'S GOOD AND OK TO SLOW DOWN AND SMELL THE ROSES AND ADMIRE THE BEAUTY.  Boy did I make the right choice, I can burn calories anytime at home, but this was my only chance to see this wonderful pocket of the world!
We got to a spot in the canyon that we had to climb up some pretty good ladders and climb up some big boulders - it was an amazing adventure ( all while having frozen and soggy feet, but well worth it!)

After the hike I went and got my body analysis done and weighed.  Very pleased with the progress on the scale, although it is just a number and do not get caught up on the number! So many other important measures of health and progress.  Down 8.8 lbs ( I calculated it wrong first and though it was 10.2 lbs but i'll take it and work on my math!)   Just lift an 8 lb bag of flour up and hike that up to the top of the mountain - wow!  Can't wait for more to get sweat out this week!

I jumped on the bike and got a good ride in while waiting for lunch to get a few more calories burned.  I went to Graduation.  It was great to see the video from the week and hear everyone's adventures.  If you would like to watch it follow the link -  it's the very last picture at the bottom of the site

OFF TO LAS VEGAS!!!!!!!!!! What a horrible drive - I took the backroads and it was beautiful and then eventually popped out on the I 15 in Arizona.  The temperature was 44 degrees.  A wee bit warm to drive 80 miles an hour down the freeway, so I stopped about half way and put the roof up!  Got checked in a LUXOR and moved up my massage apt - enjoyed the spa for awhile and then had a nice 50 min massage ( on the Luxor's dime!!!) .

Then was time for supper - so what to do??? I had all my other meals - breakfast and lunch packed with me for tomorrow.  I decided to go to the Mandalay Bay Buffet as I had credit to use up.  So I made a plate full of salad with no dressing and put 2 of my favorite meatballs on and added a few shrimp and got a slice of turkey and a broiled fish roll.  There was too much protein so I ended up only eating 1/3 of the turkey and didn't eat the fish role also.  It was very satisfying and filling. I did not feel like I was missing out on anything.  Ah dessert! My usual is an icecream sandwich that I make with 2 fresh hot choc chip cookies and ice cream and a few macroons ( and bring a Ziploc for a few more for later!)  I wanted them and I had them!  I broke the cookie ( 1 cookie) into 4.  Put 1/4 of it into a bowl with 3 small strawberries and 3 pineapple chunks and cut 1 macroon in half and enjoyed every bit of it!  Don't forget you don't taste it after the first 3 bites!
So all in all a success I would say.

I enjoyed the slots for a few hours - was lucky enough to bring back all my money and few hundred of theirs and gave it to the front desk to put on my bill to pre pay for a few massages for the upcoming weeks!    I was very pleased with how the side trip went.  I don't seem to be tempted to cheat or fall off the program at all. One good thing that I have going for me is that I am STUBBORN and when I put my mind to something I get it done.  I have given up so much ( family time, money, summer vacation) to be here that there is no way that i'm not going to give it my all!
